The Top 150 Hits of… 1978

It’s a Gibbtacular!!! Some combination of Gibb brothers (as many as four on “Shadow Dancing” or as few as one on “Grease”) were responsible for writing, producing, and/or performing the songs at #’s 13, 17, 20, 51, 134, and the entire top 5! It must be gratifying for an artist, even one who’s already a superstar, to have a few different irons in the fire and have them all turn to gold at the same time. There was a stretch from ’77-’78 in which there was at least one Gibb production in the top 10 for 47 straight weeks. During that period, there were 12 straight weeks in which they held down the top 2. Mom must have been proud.
